Stacey Family Fun Run!

We (actually, I) decided it would be fun to start my 35th year off to a healthy start, while supporting a great charity. I found a 5K near our house that allowed strollers and registered the family for the race on a chilly Sunday morning. We finished in 31 minutes with support from the Hoj's and tons of strangers cheering for us along the 3.1 mile run.

Jeff finished with the top 10 in about 12 minutes (he was a runner at ND).  He and Karen joined us for a 2nd lap to provide support and take photos!

All money raised went to Gilda's Club: http://www.gildasclub.org/

The club's Mission is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer - along with their families and friends. An essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities.
The Gilda's Club philosophy of providing an emotional and social support community as an essential complement to medical treatment when cancer is in the family.
It is the vision of Gilda's Club Worldwide to become the international leader for strengthening the global awareness of this philosophy, and to advance an understanding of the essential bond that emotional and social support brings to the cancer experience, not only for those living with cancer, but also for the families and friends who surround them.
