1st overnight away.

We took our 1st trip away from Brex for a wedding in Michigan.  Grandma Miller came in from Cleveland to babysit for the weekend and we drove to Glen Arbor.  It was a beautiful area and fun to see our friends, but we missed Brex like crazy!!

Spoon practice

Brex is still on a liquid diet, but we've started practicing using spoon. We will attempt rice/oatmeal cereal soon, but for now the spoon remains empty and clean-up is a breeze.

Brex is 5 months!

It's hard to believe Brex has been with us all day, every day for the past 5 months. We've had great luck following the eat, play, sleep method and he continues to be a very happy and healthy boy.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Brex had a special shirt made for daddy's birthday and he helped mommy make a cake.  We spent the evening together as a family at softball - a double header.  Won one and lost one, good enough to get into the playoffs!

Burger Fest

There are more than 85 different festivals in Chicago throughout the summer.  A few that we go to every year and others like "Burger Fest" that we tried for the 1st time this year.  It smelled good and tasted even better, but we could have done without the rain.

There was a long line of kids screaming for their chance to ride the horses.  Brex couldn't have cared any less about them:

Happy 4th of July from the beach bums

It was over 90 degrees in Chicago this 4th of July weekend, so we made multiple trips to the beach.

Brex spends the weekdays with his best friend Lilliana.  She takes such good care of him and teaches him new things every day.  She is also expanding his circle of friends around the neighborhood and taking him out to play dates.

Pediatrician visit

Brex went to the doctor today, a little late for his 4 month appt. He is in the 80th percentile for both weight and height at 15.5 pounds and 26 inches long. He is doing great with growth, daytime naps and sleeping through the night, so he will stick to mother's milk until his next check up at 6 months. He had 3 more vaccinations and cried for about 45 seconds after the shots, but no other adverse reactions.
