Brex got a new chair

Our baby registry was filled with products that the mommy review board and consumer reports gave the highest ratings.  So far, I can say all of the items have exceeded my expectations. There was one thing that got rave reviews that I didn't think we needed.  For the price, I didn't think it was practical to get a chair that could only be used from age 2 months - 5 months (or 4 months if you have a chubby baby), when most of the baby's day is spent sleeping. Just by coincidence, we met up with Mike & Tara (one of my college roommates) in Florida last week and they mentioned how much their baby girl loves her Bumbo chair. They even pulled out photos to prove it and the smile on Elle's face was all I needed to see. Since Brex was such a perfect baby on the flights, he was rewarded with his very own Bumbo chair and he LOVES it...

Family Vacation #1 - Florida

We took our 1st family vacation to southern Florida and once again, Brex was an absolute angel on both flights there and back. We started out in Miami for a work conference and stayed at the always fabulous Four Seasons...of all places to ease into hotel life with an infant! We hopped in the car and drove through the keys, all the way down to Key West. We learned (again) that everything is slower with a baby but the weather and scenery was beautiful, so we didn't mind the stops along the way.

Brex didn't seem to miss his home, his nursery or his crib.  He slept great in his travel crib, in 3 different hotel rooms. We are still trying to figure out how we got to be so LUCKY!?!?

We finished our vacation with a night in South Beach. Not quite the same "scene" that mommy & daddy experienced pre-baby, but a different kind of fun. Just by chance we met up with my college roommate Tara & her husband Mike.  They are also new parents to a 4 month old baby girl named Elle (back in NYC). Brex got thrown out of his 1st bar on the rooftop of the Gansevoort - like father like son?

Happy 2 month birthday Brex.  We have loved every minute with this baby boy and are looking forward to the millions of memories we have ahead of us!!!

Brex's 1st time on an airplane and he was PERFECT both ways!  Traveling must be in his blood and thank goodness, because we still have a lot of places to go and people to see.

Stacey Family Easter 2010

We spent our 1st holiday in Chicago this Easter. It was so nice to avoid the inflated airfares, traffic, airport crowds and packed planes. We already had our trip booked to see family the following weekend so we were able to relax and enjoy the day. We started the morning with mass at St. Clement, then found the Easter basket filled with ALL our favorite things and enjoyed an incredible 5 course lamb dinner with friends.

THANKS Easter Bunny!  An amethyst necklace for Mommy (Brex’s birthstone), Daddy’s favorite Cadbury eggs and a new pacifier for Brex!

All of the books say that babies make up for waking their parents up in the middle of the night when they start to smile at 6 weeks. Reading about the smile is nothing like seeing it and seeing Brex smile is the coolest thing...even better when the camera is nearby!

Party Animal

Brex attended his 1st birthday party for Maddie Garcia today.  He even managed to keep his eyes open long enough to check out the other guests, the balloons and the crazy piñata.  It is hard to believe Brex is going to be big enough to shove cake in his mouth but I'm sure time will continue to fly by like the past 6 weeks have.
