Happy Easter 2012!

We spent this Easter in Chicago with Jesus, the Easter Bunny and the Cubs.

outside! Outside!! OUTSIDE!!!

While the other 95% of Chicago was pub crawling and drinking green beer in celebration of St. Patrick's day, we were on a park crawl to celebrate the beautiful weather in Chicago this weekend. Swings, slides, sandboxes, bubbles, balls, bouncy bridges and a borrowed blue car.  It was not stop activity and SO MUCH FUN!!!

Play Dough, our newest obsession.

This video is a little bit too long and I should have cut it off about 30 seconds earlier, but if you have 4 minutes to spare, watch Brex with the joy of play dough. 
He wants to shape it, eat it, count it, throw it and pop it (which means squish it in his hands). It's amazing how a 99 cent toy can bring so much entertainment to our 2 year old...

We have fallen behind on a lot of things, but the thought of sorting through 18 years of videos brought enough terror to get me to start organizing at least the most important milestones.  Hope to get caught up soon...

Happy 2nd Birthday BREX!

This year flew by and Brex has grown into a sweet, smart, hilarious little boy.  We love our buddy more than words can describe!
Brex has a few favorite fictional characters: Frosty, Rudolph, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, but Elmo is at the top of his list. So, Elmo came for his 2nd birthday celebration and just like last year, Brex was calm and controlled as he licked the frosting off of his cake(s) 1 finger load at a time... 

California - take 2

We spent the weekend in Napa Valley visiting wineries, restaurants and parks.  Mommy had to work at Stanford, so Brex and Daddy got to spend the rare weekday together. We had a lot of fun exploring Northern California as a family for a few days.

Not too much excitement around here lately, but we're doing a lot of reading and keeping clean... 

Sled Riding

It's been a very mild winter so far, but we've made a few snowmen and Brex had his 1st sled riding adventure. Starting early to get him comfortable flying down a snow covered hill, so by the time he enrolls in ski school, he will have no fear...just like daddy! You can't really tell in these pictures but Mike swears Brex enjoyed this outing...

Nolan Patrick Miller

We were all set to fly to Cleveland to meet baby Nolan, but Brex had a lingering cough and runny nose. The Stacey guys stayed behind and mommy made a quick 19 hour trip to meet (and fall in love with) Jay and Erika's adorable baby boy. He is such a HAPPY baby!

Big helper Gianna loves her new cousin:

  In true fashion when visiting Cleveland, we packed in as much as humanly possible. What a treat to go to Samantha's basketball game and witness her THRILLING game winning foul shot in overtime!!!

Steelers Super Fan

Brex was all decked out to cheer on the Steelers in the wild card game against the Broncos. Unfortunately, they needed a lot more help than this cute little good luck charm... 

Happy New Year - Welcome 2012!

Some of favorite Australians came to stay with us for a few days.  The kids had a blast playing together and the adults had fun ringing in the new year together.  Tim, Mel, Sarah and Zach finished up their diplomacy post in DC and they are back down under for a few years.  Brex is REALLY looking forward to visiting them in Australia, hopefully sometime soon...
