Brex Can Read!

We have been reading to Brex religiously since the day he came home from the hospital and he absolutely loves books! Here is a video of him reading one of his favorite books to one of his favorite stuffed animals.

Stacey Family Christmas 2012

Once again, Brex was spoiled with attention and tons of gifts this Christmas. He did get the scooter he asked Santa for, so he must have been a very good boy this year and no coal!

Successful visit to Santa!

It took an hour to warm up, but once Brex realized the other kids were getting candy canes from Santa, he went straight to his lap.  A little timid, but nothing like the hysterics we experienced last year. He asked Santa for a scooter, so we'll see if Brex is on the good boy list this Christmas...

Prepping for Christmas

Brex helped decorate the tree this year and he is noticing the many Santa, snowmen and nutcracker decorations all over Chicago!  He seems to understand the concept of putting cookies out for Santa when he comes down our chimney on 12/28 (since we will be in OH and PA for Christmas).

He hasn't caught on to the 'elf on the shelf' concept. We tell him he has to be a good boy b/c the elf is watching and he will tell Santa not to bring him toys if he misbehaves, instead he will get a lump of coal. He tells us he already has toys but he doesn't have any coal, so he would like some coal - HA!

He is also a HUGE fan of candy canes and "likes them even better than toothpaste"!!

Trick or Treating

Brex perfected his roaring which was really cute but the most adorable was his "trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat".  Unfortunately we didn't get it on video but here 2 others:

Happy Halloween!

Brex really got into Halloween this year.  He picked out his own costume, practiced his roaring until he got it just right and he was a trooper running around the neighborhood for trick or treating.  

We started with a couple of healthy snacks for dinner before Brex loaded up on candy!

 

Brex had a visit with his girlfriend Sadie before trick or treating with Mommy AND Daddy!!!

 

Pumpkin Decorating

Brex had fun painting his "little boy pumpkin" with Lilliana and carving his "big boy pumpkin" with Daddy!

Didier Farm 2012

We returned to Didier farm again this year to see the pumpkins and ride the rides.  Brex and Mae had a blast!

Brex is getting better and better on the drums...and we'll keep practicing the singing.

Happy Birthday Mommy

Just a low key, rainy Wednesday celebrating another year older with the cutest little boy in the whole world. Brex is the best Happy Birthday singer and candle blowing helper!

 

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

Spending as much time outside as possible before the winter weather comes.  We're still managing to fit in trips to the park, street festivals and a few visits with friends - but falling behind on photos and blog posts. Goodbye summer...

Treats for a happy Labor Day!

Brex got 2 very special (and rare) treats on this Labor Day holiday:

1.) both mommy and daddy at home all day on a Monday - no work!

2.) a trip to Dairy Queen for his FAVORITE - vanilla ice cream!!
